A grand 40th edition !

Tonight’s 40th Athletissima edition will be palatial. It will surely be an event to remember. We shall see great performances, a high level of intensity and incredible duels. Amongst many: Triple Jump between Cuban Pedro Pablo Pichardo and American Christian Taylor (both over 18m) or the 100m with season best Justin Gatlin, fighting against Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay. Who knows, they might as well run under 9’’70 ?

Not to forget the Swiss athletes are also one of the main events of the show: such as Kariem Hussein – 400mH European Champion, Selina Büchel – new 800m Swiss record holder, Lea Sprunger – recently qualified on 400mH for the Beijing World Championship, Mujinga Kambundji on 200m and the Swiss 4x100m team – ending event of the meeting. The Pontaise Olympic Stadium will be full, opening at 16h30 with the Athletissima village.

Here is a good advice: leave your car at home (traffic jams and complicated parking), public transport is free with an Athletissima ticket.
