We jump back to the first and rainy edition of Athletissima, that took place on the Friday, 8 July, 1977! The American, Dwight Stones, is forced to mop the track in order to jump! Despite the rain, he told Jacky Delapierre, Meeting Director: “What a crowd! We will be back in 3 weeks, there is a free date…” The athletes kept their promise and were back the Wednesday, 3 August 1977, for the second edition of the meeting, but this time…. without the rain!
