Audrey Werro at full speed

Impressive performance by Audrey Werro!
The Fribourg native claimed the U23 European title in the 800m in Bergen, Norway, leading the race from start to finish with her powerful stride.
This title adds to her two previous victories at the European Junior Championships in past years. Clocking 1:57.42, the Romande came within 0.17 seconds of her national record set at the end of May in Poland.
Such a time — achieved without a pacemaker — further cements her place in the top 5 of the 2025 world rankings (senior level) and also marks a new U23 Championship record.
Women’s 800m is undoubtedly one of the standout events in Swiss athletics right now, alongside sprints and hurdles, with five athletes (all from French-speaking Switzerland) running under or just above the 2-minute mark: Werro, Veronica Vancardo, Lore Hoffmann, Rachel Pellaud, and Joceline Wind.
It promises to be a thrilling race at Athletissima, where Audrey Werro is one of the event’s ambassadors.
