After running her 400mH in 55’’60, Lea Sprunger qualified for the World Championships in Beijing in August and for the Olympics in Rio 2016 (the qualifying limit was 56‘‘20). “My legs were aching all night but now (Monday), everything’s back in order” said the 4x100m relay captain. “I wasn’t expecting to run so fast, my goal was to get as close as possible to the qualifying limit. Conditions were good, I grabbed the opportunity.”
Until Thursday night’s Athletissima meeting, Lea Sprunger will exercise her legs “in order to recover”, she added. “I must confirm my 55’’60 performance”. She’ll also train with her teammates Wednesday.
