The joy of movement, shared in schools

Athletissima is proud to support the promotion of sport and health in schools. As part of a partnership with the Canton of Vaud, elite athletes and event ambassadors visited several local schools to introduce young people to the basic movements of sport: running, throwing, and jumping.

This immersive project, developed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Compulsory Education and Special Education of the Canton of Vaud, offered a fun and engaging introduction to athletics. Six top athletes took part: Valentin Imsand, Charles Devantay, Lore Hoffmann, Julien Bonvin, Léonie Pointet, and Emma Van Camp.

From warm-ups and starting block demonstrations to jumping and coordination exercises, plus a quiz on athletics, the pupils (aged 12 to 15, school levels 9–10P) clearly enjoyed the experience. At the end, each student received a personalised Athletissima bib with their name on it.

But more than just athletics, the aim was to promote the simple joy of movement, without pressure, but with purpose, under expert guidance. Tellingly, some of the most enthusiastic pupils were not necessarily the ones most engaged in regular PE lessons. It just goes to show that when the passion for sport is shared in the right way, it can be truly contagious and awaken a hidden energy.

The initiative reached six schools in the canton, involving around 700 to 800 students, a resounding success.
