Four athletes available only for the 4x100m !

With Joëlle Golay at the U23 Universiades in South Korea and Sarah Atcho off to the U23 European Championships in Tallinn, Laurent Meuwly, coach for the women’s 4x100m, will only have four athletes. “It’s not ideal but it’s been a while since we knew that this could happen” he said. The team layout? “Marissa Lavanchy, Lea Sprunger, Mujinga Kambundji and Fanette Humair.” Ellen Sprunger, who recently went through Achilles’ heel surgery, won’t be part of the race.

Last year the team had established the Swiss record in Lausanne in 42’’94. “The ambitions won’t be the same as last year’s but we’ll still be efficient. A few weeks ago, the team ran with Joëlle Golay in 43’13, our third best performance”.

At Athletissima, the team will run against the U20 Swiss team, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Sweden and Spain.
