A World Class Trio in the Women’s 200m

The women’s 200-meter dash is one of the top events right now, and Athletissima is no exception. At the starting line at the Pontaise on August 21 will be Jamaican Shericka Jackson, the second-fastest woman in history with a time of 21.41 seconds—just 0.07 seconds off Florence Griffith-Joyner’s world record— Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas, the 2022 world champion, 2016 and 2021 Olympic champion in the 400-meter dash, and Amy Hunt of Great Britain, the world silver medalist.

Shaunae Miller-Uibo, who welcomed a son in 2023 and a daughter in 2025, has made an impressive return following maternity leave, seven years after setting her personal best of 21.74 seconds. Can she challenge two time world champion Shericka Jackson over the half lap, despite being a 400m specialist by trade?
