An explosive women's 100m
The first six women from the 100m final at the Tokyo Olympics will participate at Athletissima, on the 26th of August, for the 9th stage of the Wanda Diamond League. Jamaicans Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce are shaping up to be the big female stars of the night.
The now five-time Olympic champion will compete against all her main rivals from the Olympics in Lausanne, and each will be keen to extract revenge. She will be up against her compatriots Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, silver medallist in the 100m in Japan, and Shericka Jackson who claimed bronze in Tokyo, as well as the Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou, who just missed the podium in Tokyo but was double silver medallist at the 2017 World Championships.
Ajla Del Ponte and Mujinga Kambundji, 5th and 6th in the Olympic final, will also start this explosive 100m.
