The Ukrainian team will present a formidable quartet: Yaroslava Mahuchikh (21 years old), indoor world champion and outdoor vice-world champion (with a record of 2.05m), Yulia Yevchenko and Iryna Gerashchenko (with respective records of 2.02m and 2m), and Kateryna Tabashnyk (1.96m).
Australian athlete Nicola Olyslagers-McDermott, Olympic silver medallist and currently tied for the top position in the 2023 world rankings with Mahuchikh, will also compete for victory in the event. The field will also include the no. 4, 5, and 6 athletes in the 2023 rankings: Serbian Angelina Topic, British Morgan Lake, and Romanian Daniela Stanciu.
The French-speaking audience, and others as well, will be thrilled to see Nafissatou Thiam in action. The Walloon athlete, a double Olympic champion in heptathlon, will start her summer season at this event. Her personal record in high jump (2.02m) is no less impressive than that of the specialists.
Swiss athlete Salome Lang, returning from an injury, and Estonian Karmen Bruus complete the line-up. Admission is free, and the venue is designed to accommodate at least 2’000 spectators around the jump area
