Five of these seven athletes have already won medals in major competitions. Mujinga Kambundji, who will run the 100m in Lausanne, has eight podium finishes in World and European Championships (both indoor and outdoor), including three titles.
Her younger sister, Ditaji Kambundji (in the 100m hurdles in Lausanne), has won two European bronze medals, and Ajla Del Ponte was the European indoor champion in the 60m in 2021. Returning from injury, she will line up for the 100m alongside Mujinga Kambundji.
Simon Ehammer, who will compete in the long jump, excels on all fronts. Last year, he won the Diamond League long jump standings and the indoor heptathlon at the World Championships last March. He has won four medals in major championships (long jump and combined events). Jason Joseph, competing in the 110m hurdles in Lausanne, has claimed a European indoor title and triumphed at the Zurich Weltklasse last summer.
Audrey Werro, in the 800m, is rising in the elite ranks after shining as a junior, competing closely with Lore Hoffmann, who will also be competing in the 800m.
At the end of the meeting, Athletissima will traditionally feature a women's 4x100m relay, showcasing the Swiss team that recently secured its ticket to the Paris Olympics.
