To assure the presence of many Olympic heroes, the four big meetings of Lausanne, Paris, Zurich and Bruxelles will work together to offer Rio’s medallists a bonus of respectively 5000 $, 3000 $ and 1000 $.
The highlights of the evening will be the sprints (men’s 200 and 400, women’s 100 m), men’s and women’s high and low hurdles, as well as men’s long jump and pole vault competitions. Plus the high point of the night: an explosive 1000 m starring the best 800 m and 1500 m specialists.
The Swiss Stars in La Pontaise
More than ever, all the Swiss Stars will stir the crowd in Lausanne. The two 400 m hurdles are particularly full of promises: on the women’s side, Lea Sprunger will be looking to put her home stadium on fire: “After Rio, I will be thinking only about one thing: Athletissima and all the people I love in the stadium to cheer me”, said the local athlete looking as sharp as ever.
On the men’s side, the 2014 European champion Kariem Hussein will have only one goal, the same as every time he is at the start of a race in Switzerland or all over the world: to win it all.
On 100 m, the Swiss sprint princess Mujinga Kambundji will also be there. « When I think about Lausanne, I immediately imagine the crowd, very close, and the amazing atmosphere», told the 100 m, 200 m and 4x100 m Swiss record-holder.
The big Swiss attraction on the 800 m will be the indoor European champion Selina Büchel. Not to mention the women’s 4x100 m, who showed great potential for its first appearance of the year on the 11th of June in Geneva.
