Some of the world's finest highjump athletes are in Lausanne. Amongst them, five have jumped over 2.40m (Ukhov, Bondarenko, Barchim, Drouin, Dmitrik). "This intensity pushes us to go higher" says Barchim, 2.42m this year. "What's interesting is the fact that you never know who is going to win." Can Sotomayor's record (2.45m) be beaten in Lausanne? "You can't be sure when a world record is about to come" continues the quatari athlete. "It all depends on the weather conditions and the inherent components of our disciplin".
