Wanyonyi and Arop Return to Lausanne for the 800m

Athletissima’s 800m promises a thrilling battle. Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Olympic champion and the second fastest man in history, will face Canada’s Marco Arop, the 2023 world champion and world number one in 2026, as well as American Brandon Miller, the breakout star of the summer and winner in London on July 18.

The 800m is one of the meeting’s highlights every year. In 2024, Wanyonyi clocked 1:41.11, finishing just two tenths of a second outside David Rudisha’s world record.
