The 5000m will pose a challenge for the young but talented Selemon Barega (ETH). Having dominated the beginning of the season, he will be up against some tough opponents among them being Muktar Edris, the current World Champion. The Mini-Star relay race traditionally marks the start of Athletissima. Participants run by teams of two in the majestic gardens of the Olympic Museum.

Train with the stars of Athletissima!
As part of Athletissima 2018, the international athletics meeting taking place on Thursday 5th of July, a training session for 450 8 to 14 years old children will be organized in three French-speaking cities of Switzerland. This event will take place on Wednesday, 4th of July 2018 and will offer the possibility for young athletes to train with some of the world’s most renowned Swiss and international athletes.

Dream Women’s 100 m and Men’s 400 m Hurdles in Lausanne
Local heros Mujinga Kambundji and Kariem Hussein will have their hands full to shine in front of their home crowd the 5 July in Lausanne. It’s as simple as that : all the world’s bests will be there on 100 m and 400 m hurdles : from Olympic and World champions to the best rising stars.
