Returning to the lake for a new era
About forty years after leaving the lakeside in Vidy, Athletissima is set to return, by 2027 or 2028, in the new Pierre-de-Coubertin stadium. The allure of novelty will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the event, but the departure from La Pontaise will inevitably evoke nostalgia.
Athletissima 2024 – A Fitting Programme 10 Days after the Olympics
The program for the 49th edition of Athletissima, taking place on the 21st and 22nd August 2024, is shaping up to satisfy even the most demanding fans. Meeting Director Jacky Delapierre secured the events he wanted after the traditional World Athletics Council meeting in Monaco.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Femke Bol are European Athletes of the Year
The four European Athletes of the Year awarded at the European Athletics Golden Tracks in Vilnius were present at Athletissima this year. Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Femke Bol confirmed their dominance in their disciplines, while Angelina Topić (high jump) and Mattia Furlani (long jump) are the Rising Stars to watch out for.
